Removing steps

A . Remove the camshaft. For the correct steps, see Disassembly and Assembly, "AC Camshaft-Removing and Installation".

Keep all the parts clean without impurities.

Impurities can cause rapid wear and shorten component life.




1. Check the camshaft bearings (1). For more information, see the technical parameters, "Camshaft bearing".

2. If the camshaft bearing (1) is worn or damaged, use tool (A), and tool (B) to remove the camshaft bearing from the cylinder block.

Note: Remove the camshaft bearing from the front of the cylinder block.

1. Clean the bearing housing in the cylinder block. Ensure that there is no debris in the oil hole of the bearing housing.





2. Lubrbe the bearing housing in the cylinder block with a clean engine oil.

3. Accurately align the large oil hole (X) on the camshaft bearing (1) with the one on the cylinder block.

4. Use tools (A) and tool (B) to install the camshaft bearing (1) into the cylinder block.


Note: Ensure that all oil holes are properly aligned. If the oil hole is not properly aligned, remove the camshaft bearing.
