This document mainly introduces how to cause excessive engine fuel consumption of Caterpillar excavator 325C

(1) Possible reasons.

1) Oil leakage.

2) Oil level.

3) Engine oil temperature.

4) Turbocharger.

5) Valve guide.

6) Piston rings.

(2) Recommended measures.

1) Oil leakage. Find all oil leaks. Repair oil leaks. Check whether the crankcase breather hole is too dirty.

2) Oil level. Remove excess oil. Find the source of excess fluid. Repair the leak causing the malfunction. Recheck all fluid levels.

3) Engine oil temperature. Check whether the engine oil temperature is appropriate.

4) Turbocharger. Check the intake manifold for oil. Repair or replace turbocharger if necessary.

5) Valve guide. If the valve guide is worn, replace the cylinder head.

6) Piston rings. Check engine internal components. Replace any worn parts.
