Have an original car key BMW 525i E60 CAS2 2007 46 frequency 315 MHZ, want to add a new remote, done by Autel MaxiIM KM100 Universal Key Generator Kit like a charm!
Step 1: Identify key chip type and frequency
Reading/cloning
Put the original car key into the coil of KM100 to detect
Read out the chip is PCF7945A/53A HITAG BMW (ID46), status is locked.
Put the new remote into KM100 coil to detect
Read out the chip is PCF7942A/44A HITAG BMW (ID46), status is unlocked.
Then check the frequency of two keys in sequence
Both are 315 MHZ FSK
After programming chip, then the remote function will work automatically.
Step 2: Add new key remote
Connect VCI to OBDII port of the vehicle
Use the original key to turn on ignition switch
Tap IMMO>> BMW>> Automatic selection
Turn on and press ‘Read’ VIN
The VIN appears on the screen, then press ‘OK’
Confirm the vehicle info: it’s 5 series 2004_10 E60 525i_M54 THA_RL CAS2
Scan IMMO status
There is no fault and the number of learning key is 7.
Select ‘Add key (guided)’
It needs to connect with internet Wifi in this process. Make sure the network connection is normal.
Turn ignition on
Select key type: SEMI SMART
Turn off ignition and then pull out the original key
Tap ‘Add key (guided)’ and press ‘Start’
Put the new key into the coil signal of Autel KM100 programmer
Wait a moment to make dealer key
Make dealer key successfully, then try to start the engine 1 time
Start the car normally
When it prompts’ whether new key can start engine? Press ‘YES’
Key added by Autel MaxiIM KM100 is successful, test the remote, also works fine.
