10月份有很多纪念日，10月5日是史蒂夫·乔布斯的忌日，今天10月8日是哥伦布纪念日，明天10月9日将是约翰·列侬的生日。
约翰·列侬是我喜欢的歌手，今天上了半天班，然后去中央公园西参观博物馆，顺道到草莓地看一眼列侬的纪念地——草莓地。
草莓地（Strawberry Fields）是约翰·列侬死后，纽约市议员 Henry J. Stern 经过市政府通过而设立的一片园区，位于约翰·列侬住宅附近的中央公园内，靠近中央公园西与72街入口。1984年3月动工，列侬遗孀捐出50万美元，”Imagine“马赛克由意大利那波利市政府捐献，”Imagine“是约翰·列侬最著名的歌曲之一。
草莓地于1985年10月9日，也就是约翰列侬的45岁生日对公众开放。
每年的10月9日，草莓地都会聚集很多民众，以聚会、歌唱等方式纪念列侬。

不少游客在纪念标志前照相留念，背景处有一位非裔抱着吉他唱着列侬的歌，弹吉他者身后是“和平公园”。
草莓地已成为中央公园的一处著名景点。明天10月9日一定是个热闹的日子。

达科特大厦，列侬就在住宅大楼门口被枪杀。他的遗孀小野洋子，今天依然住在这里。据说是6楼。

草莓地（Strawberry Fields）与列侬
- On March 26, 1981, the city council adopted legislation introduced by then-council member Henry J. Stern on December 18, 1980, which designated this area as Strawberry Fields.
- Ground breaking ceremony was in March 21, 1984. Yoko Ono contributed $500,000 to redesign and renovate Strawberry Fields, and an equivalent amount for an ongoing maintenance endowment.
- The "Imagine" mosaic was donated by city of Naples.
- The eastern area is called "Garden of Peace" and designed by landscape architect Bruce Kelly. 150 nations contributed plants to the Garden.
- Strawberry Fields opened on October 9, 1985, John's 45th birthday.
