He is UPLI's Vice President Asia, and President of the 19th World Congress of Poets, the first ever to be held in China. This grand event was held in 2005. He has received recognition and awards from many leaders of the world. Born in mainland China, raised in Taiwan, Dr. Fan has recently been acclaimed by Chinese President Hu Jiantao for his most recent poetry and art book, Cross-Strait Antholoby which is part of his artistic bridge building policy of spanning the gaps of understanding between people, nations and cultures. In addition to artistic pursuits, Dr. Kenneth Kuanling Fan is also an educator and business man. He wrote the first text on computer science in the Chinese language in which he coined the Chinese word for Computer which is currently in use.
