史泰登岛（Staten Island，又译为斯塔滕岛或史坦頓島），是美国纽约市下轄的五個行政区之一，並與纽约州下轄的里奇蒙郡行政範圍完全重疊。相對於紐約市其他四個區，史泰登为纽约市位置较遙遠、人口最稀疏，且呈現較多自然景觀、開發程度也较低的一區。
在紐約市五個區裡，史泰登島與紐約市中心的交通並不便利，與曼哈顿之間只靠著史泰登岛渡轮連接。但由於渡輪營運由公家負擔，因此不需付費，也讓渡輪成為免費欣賞下曼哈顿天際線、自由女神像與爱丽丝岛的最佳搭乘工具。
為解決與紐約市其他區之間的交通問題，1964年橫跨峽口、將史泰登島與布魯克林串聯在一起的Verraazano 窄桥啟用。這座4260英呎（約1298公尺）的悬索桥是當時世界第一長的單跨距懸索橋，大大改善史泰登島對外交通，免除居民出入之隔閡。
The NYRR 5-Borough Series: Staten Island Half-Marathon was the fifth and final race of the year that earned local runners and NYRR members guaranteed entry to the NYC Half 2014 for doing four out of five races in the series.
The annual series is a favorite among local competitive runners who race forborough pride and also earn bragging rights for taking titles in other boroughs.Staten Island native Michael Cassidy defended his title with his third consecutive win in 1:07:15. Emiliano Garcia matched Cassidy’s pace for much of the race, and took second in 1:08:38, while Roberto Puente took third in 1:12:34.
