说起布朗士,除了扬基体育馆、布朗士动物园和纽约植物园,很多人都说不出别的内容,这个区居住的华人并不多,大家听起来比较陌生,常常想起不好的治安,比如福建人开的中餐外卖餐馆窗口要安装防弹玻璃。
实际上,布朗士也有很高尚很豪华的小区。
本文要介绍的Riverdale,位于布朗士的西北,地理上处在曼哈顿北部与Yonkers南部之间,沿着哈德逊河的一带。西奥多・罗斯福(罗斯福总统的父亲)和约翰・肯尼迪总统曾经住过的地方,罗斯福住过的那个房子,马克・吐温也曾经住过。
罗斯福居住过的WaveHill波浪山庄,位于Riverdale小区内,是一个对外开放的公园,网站甚至还有中文版,我们去参观时,不是周末,接送的小巴成了我们的专车。
从中央车站乘坐Metro-North到达Riverdale或者乘坐1号地铁到达北部最后一个车站,车站外面有WaveHill标志的小巴免费接送。(从中央车站前往,40分钟左右)。 Wave Hill 门口有停车场。
